MARCUS RASHFORD reminded English football fans that he is good enough to play for Barcelona as he scored two goals to fire the Catalan club to victory over Newcastle.
The Toon Army’s return to the Champions League was spoiled by a familiar face as the raucous atmosphere in St James’ Park wasn’t enough to stop Barcelona’s undeniable quality.

Newcastle got off to a hot start thanks to the electric atmosphere on Tyneside, but without a recognised centre-forward from the off they missed a host of early chances.
While Rashford made sure he was clinical up the other end, guiding home a delightful header and hitting a spectacular long-distance effort to put the visitors out of sight, or so he thought.
Newcastle brought back that wall of noise when Anthony Gordon scored a 90th minute goal to try and spark a historic comeback.
However, all the will in the world and seven minutes of added time wasn’t enough to draw the Magpies level.
