In accordance with the recent appointments of senior officers in the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Nicholas Nemetne Rume has taken command as the 23rd Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, located in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He officially assumed office on October 22, 2025, during a vibrant handing-over and taking-over ceremony held at the Headquarters of the 22 Armoured Brigade, transitioning from his predecessor, Brigadier General Ezra Bawa Barkins.

In his speech, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Barkins, expressed deep gratitude to God and the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity to lead the Brigade.
