TV star Jo Hartley has revealed her engagement following a romantic proposal from her seldom-seen boyfriend, Glenn Lee Yeldell.
The actress shared a collection of images from the charming and traditional proposal, disclosing that her partner popped the question during a special evening they spent together.

Captioning the images, This Is England actress Jo, 53, wrote: “Last night was incredibly special!
“My wonderful Lee proposed … and I said YES!
“It was a beautiful night, filled with lovely surprises. Romance is very much alive.
“I love you @glennleeyeldell.”
The actress, hailing from Oldham, was soon inundated with congratulatory messages from her famous friends and co-stars.
One comment read: “Ahhh Pickle!!!! Congratulations!!!! I’m so happy for both of you!”
Kate Robbins added, “Fantastic!!!!”
Suranne Jones shared a string of heart emojis, while This Is Us star Chrissy Metz expressed: “Congratulations to both of you! We all know what a lucky guy Lee is and he’s clearly very smart to put a ring on it!”
After receiving a wave of well-wishes, Jo later expressed her gratitude to her followers in another heartfelt post alongside a new photo of herself and Lee.
She wrote: “My fiancé @glennleeyeldell and I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone for the lovely messages of congratulations we received on our engagement! Woo hoo!”
Jo is renowned for her two-decade career in film and television, with notable roles in After Life and Eddie the Eagle.
Most recently, she portrayed teacher Mrs. Fenumore in the 2025 Netflix series, featuring in episode two of the popular crime drama.
Her breakout role came at the age of 32, playing Marie in Dead Man’s Shoes, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming an actress after aspiring to perform since childhood.
Jo, who played June in After Life, hinted that the cast could “definitely do more” with the sitcom in the future.
During a press event, Jo and her on-screen partner Lenny, played by Tony Clay, reflected on filming the final season.
“I was watching it last night and thought, ‘We could definitely do more’,” she shared.
“I didn’t think about it while filming; I just focused on enjoying the moment.
“I tried not to consider what was ahead – I aimed to truly enjoy and savor it all.”
Jo additionally remarked: “I know we’ll all collaborate with Ricky again; he mentioned it the other night.
“I believe he concluded it at the right time, but I think a Christmas special could be possible.”
