Nathan Aspinall was seen encouraging the Ally Pally crowd to chant an explicit song about Keir Starmer.

We previously reported on a songbook that was directed at the Prime Minister.

He was targeted once more as fans loudly sang, “Keir Starmer is a w*****” during the match between Aspinall and Leonard Gates.

After throwing his last three darts in the second set of his 3-0 victory over the American, the noise from the crowd grew increasingly louder.

Aspinall was then seen encouraging the crowd, moving his arms up and down to signal that they should continue and increase the volume.

This is not the first time this has happened.

A similar situation occurred when Stephen Bunting faced Danny Noppert at the World Grand Prix back in October.

Aspinall secured his place in the last 32 with his win over Gates.

He is now set to compete against Kevin Doets for a chance to enter the final 16.

Discussing his upcoming opponent, he told Sky Sports: “Kevin is a great dart player, and I have a poor record against him.

“I believe he’s aware of that.

“He’s been chatting with me quite a bit at the hotel over the last few days, but he’s a fantastic player.

“He’s a really nice guy.

However, I think if someone starts throwing good darts at me, I will respond, and I believe that’s what will happen.”
