The Nasarawa State House of Assembly will begin consideration of the State Police Bill transmitted by the National Assembly when lawmakers resume plenary on Monday, September 28.
Speaker of the Assembly, Danladi Jatau, disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Lafia.
Jatau stated that the bill was received from the Clerk of the National Assembly on Friday, September 18.
“Yes, we are in receipt of the State Police Bill from the Clerk of the National Assembly. We received it last Friday,” he stated.
The Speaker also said lawmakers would scrutinise the proposed legislation and take the necessary legislative steps after resuming plenary.
“We will go through it when we resume on Monday next week,” Jatau added.
He assured that the Assembly would give the bill the required legislative attention before taking further action.
