She took to Instagram today and shared a teary video that was sparked by a trip to the opticians.
Explaining her tear-filled eyes, she said: “So this is a combination of trying on contact lenses for the first time, just come from the opticians and crying in the opticians because he asked me how many children I have and their ages.
“I then I just burst into tears and said ‘well three but my 18-year-old is going to Uni in a few days’.
“I literally just cried all over him which wasn’t ideal when he was fitting contact lenses.”
Myleene has daughters Ava, 18, and Hero, 14, with ex-husband Graham Quinn and three-year-old son Apollo with fiancé .
The radio and TV star then asked her followers for help in dealing with a child flying the nest.
“Mums, how do you do this?” she asked. “How do you say goodbye to your first love? Is this what I’m going to do for three years?
“I literally want this for her but I don’t want it for me. My baby, she hasn’t even gone yet. Oh my god, how am I going to drive her there and drive home like this.
“I’m just going to have to pull over and cry in the services.”
Reflecting on her heightened feelings, Myleene said she was being “ridiculous”, adding: “But my heart is about to run to the door.”
She then said: “PS I promise I’m fine but doing the room lists, the shop for one and having them let you hug them loads suddenly, you’ll know how bitter sweet this is.”
The tearful outburst came days after she
Talented Ava got top marks at school this summer and won a spot at the Royal Academy of Music.
Myleene told MailOnline : “She (Ava) has done the piano for eight hours a day, she went to the Royal Academy of Music, she had to audition, they didn’t just say ‘‘s daughter is showing up, give her a place’, she had to audition, and that’s the point.
“You could call my children nepo babies all day long but they can play Rachmaninoff concertos like the best of them.
“To what end are you going to decide that that’s a nepo baby when they have worked and been on the grind for their own money and their own talent?”
Ava and Hero both have weekend jobs, and Myleene said she was keen to instill in them the importance of earning their own money.
The former Hear’Say singer added that she knows her kids are now equipped with the necessary skills to make their own way as adults.
