A MURDER investigation has been launched after a reported hit-and-run left a pedestrian dead – with five people arrested.
A 26-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and despite the best efforts of medical staff sadly died.
Police received reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at just after 8.30pm last night in Doncaster.
A silver Hyundai is understood to have been involved and reportedly failed to stop at the scene in Prince’s Street.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old and a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
A 20-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.
They all remain in police custody at this time.
Prince’s Road was closed whilst officers were at the scene and has since reopened.
