Tragic Day Out: Mum of Two Loses Life After Fall at Luxury Hotel

A mother of two tragically passed away after falling from a bar stool and striking her head on a marble fireplace at a hotel, an inquest revealed.

Kadie Hunt had spent the afternoon at the boutique Welbeck Manor and golf hotel in Sparkwell, enjoying drinks with her cousin and friends.

The 38-year-old fell off the high stool and landed on her side as a staff member heard a “crash.”

Coroner’s reports indicated that Kadie declined assistance to get up from the floor and appeared to feel somewhat embarrassed initially.

She seemed to “brush it off” and was taken home by a friend after the fall last April.

However, the next day, Kadie was discovered unresponsive in her bathroom with some injuries to her face.

The mother was rushed to a hospital where her condition worsened, and she sadly passed away.

The cause of her death was determined to be a traumatic brain bleed consistent with the fall onto the hard surface.

The inquest revealed that Kadie had been drinking heavily due to grief, having consumed three pints of lager, a double gin and tonic, and four glasses of wine that day.

Authorities stated there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

The area coroner for Devon, Alison Longhorn, concluded that the death was accidental and contributed to by alcohol intoxication.

In a heartfelt tribute, Kadie’s mother, Shirley, 60, shared that her “selfless” daughter donated her organs.

She expressed, “That is her legacy – even now with the donation of her organs. I want people to know how many lives my daughter has saved by donating her organs.

“She’s a hero. Kadie was selfless right until the end. The lives she saved will hopefully now have the opportunity to create the cherished memories we all hold dear.”
