He quickly settled and Daisy rearranged her pillows to get back to .

But as she slid her hand beneath to get comfy she felt a number of sharp pin-pricks on her finger.

Daisy described the moments that followed as her “worst nightmare”.

She told The Sun: “It felt like I had been by something but I had no idea what it could be.

“The baby monitor lit up my side of the bed so I looked down and jumped out of my skin.

“The snake was literally next to me, poking out from under the pillow.

“I leapt out of bed and screamed at the top of my voice.”

Her cries woke boyfriend, Bailey Lyth, 23, who told her she must have been dreaming.

Dock worker Bailey got up to use the bathroom as trembling Daisy stood in the doorway too scared to go back in.

She said: “I asked Bailey to check the bed for me. He lifted the pillows and there it was.

“He jumped back and shouted ‘there’s a f***ing ‘.

“I was frozen to the spot and started crying my eyes out.”

The couple rang 999 and told the operator what had happened and, after insisting it was not a hoax, a paramedic was scrambled.

Daisy was taken to hospital to be checked over and returned home to Cleethorpes, Lincs., hours later.

The non-venomous snake was coaxed into a plastic tub and taken to an exotic pet shop .

In the meantime, Daisy posted on to ask if anyone had lost a snake and received a message from a neighbour.

They told her 18-month-old Viper had been after his vivarium was accidentally left open.

It is believed he entered Daisy’s home via the bathroom before entering the bedroom and slithering under the covers at the weekend.

Daisy added: “I can’t go to sleep without checking the bed.

“I take all the covers and pillows off now, move the bed to check behind it and look in every nook and cranny.”
