A WOMAN is currently fighting for her life in the hospital after being struck by a car on the motorway.
A A180 vehicle collided with the woman, who is in her 40s. She is now receiving treatment for multiple severe injuries and is in critical condition.

Emergency services responded to the westbound carriageway of the M55, near junction 2 for Cottam, at 10:29 PM last night after receiving reports of a road traffic collision.
Sgt Bex Price of the Lancs Roads Policing Unit stated: “My thoughts are primarily with the woman and her family as she undergoes treatment in the hospital.”
“As we look into the details of this incident, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the motorway around that time to reach out to us.”
“If you saw a pedestrian near the carriageway in the minutes leading up to the collision, we would also like to hear from you.”
The road was closed while emergency services managed the aftermath of the crash.
“We understand that the closure affects other road users; however, it is essential that we conduct a thorough investigation of the incident,” added the officer.
