A MAJOR highway has been closed after a serious collision involving multiple vehicles.
The M1 in Leicestershire between Junction 23 and Junction 23A was closed northbound on Tuesday.

The collision has led to a lorry catching on fire and spillage across the road.
All three northbound lanes were closed as emergency crews battled the inferno.
One of the southbound lanes was also closed due to the number of crew members working at the scene.
Leicestershire Police are in attendance along with Leicestershire Fire & Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service.
National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
National Highways has warned drivers approaching the collision site of minor delays.
