Other clips show thick plumes of black smoke rising above the Russian skyline as Ukrainian forces continue to target key infrastructure.

The scenes come after suffered fresh embarrassment when .

A swarm of long-range reportedly penetrated newly reinforced air defences around the Russian capital as world leaders gathered for the summit in .

Flames engulfed the Kapotnya Oil Refinery, located just 10 miles from the .

The facility supplies up to 70 per cent of ‘s fuel needs, making it one of the capital’s most strategically important energy sites.

The strike dealt a significant blow to ‘s fuel network and added to mounting pressure on Putin’s wartime economy.

Fuel shortages have now been reported in at least 25 Russian regions despite the country being one of the world’s largest oil producers.

has also intensified efforts to disrupt supplies reaching occupied territories, targeting tankers, fuel convoys and critical routes.

One of the most significant attacks struck the Armiansk Bridge, a vital link between occupied Crimea and mainland Russia.

Ukraine’s 1st Separate Assault Regiment Da Vinci claimed the strike had “completely paralysed” the key logistics corridor.

Commander Dmytro Filatov said: “Because the Chonhar Bridge was already damaged, the Russians concentrated a large number of trucks carrying military cargo through Armiansk.

“Consequently, during the strike, we managed to hit the trucks carrying fuel and ammunition.

“There were about 50 vehicles, and some of them were destroyed.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck the Tolyattikauchuk petrochemical plant in the Volga city of Tolyatti, sparking a major fire.

Another attack ignited a blaze at the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan – one of Russia’s largest refining complexes.

The sustained attacks have also raised fresh questions over the Kremlin’s ability to protect critical infrastructure and maintain control over occupied territories.

Flights were temporarily suspended at all four major Moscow airports — Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky — causing widespread disruption.

Ukrainian President wrote on X: “This time, the Moscow region felt the reach of Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. An oil refinery was hit at a distance of 500 kilometres.

“This is a just response to Russian strikes and to the dragging out of a war that must be ended.”
