Ahead of its monthly sanitation exercise on Saturday, August 30, 2025, the Adamawa State Government has urged residents to strictly observe the exercise by cleaning their surroundings.

The government particularly asked the people to desilt and clear their drainages, warning that the exercise would be closely supervised.

In a notice seen by DAILY POST on Friday morning, the Adamawa State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources stressed that this Saturday, “the sanitation exercise would be rigorously observed.”

The notice, signed by the Information Officer of the Ministry, Wiyasim Akila, stated: “Residents are advised to desilt and clear drainages around them to not only ensure clinical hygiene but prevent potentially impending floods.”

The notice announced that, as is usual with the exercise, all vehicular movements are restricted from 7 am to 10 am.

“The public is urged to comply as strict enforcement and monitoring will be conducted by security operatives and sanitation committee,” the notice concluded.
