POLICE and firefighters dramatically surrounded a Saudia Airlines jumbo as it landed in the UK after a passenger punched a crew member and tried to open the jet door.
An army of emergency responders descended on the packed plane seconds after touchdown – and cops nicked a flyer for endangering the aircraft .


Stairs were hastily erected allowing officials to enter the cockpit amid chaotic scenes captured in pictures obtained by The Sun.
Startled onlookers counted four fire trucks, six police vehicles and ambulances – alongside airport ground service response units.
The Sun understands bedlam broke out on the jet – registered HZ-AR27 – after it touched down at Heathrow on a flight from Jeddah just before 1pm.
A man onboard Flight SV119 argued with a crew member and then struck him and tried to open the jet door amid terrifying scenes as the plane taxied to a stand at Terminal 4.
The Boeing 787 hit the brakes and came to a standstill and pilots alerted the emergency services to a man who had gone “beserk” – refusing to wait to disembark until the plane had come to a stop.
A source said: “It was chaos on board and very frightening for families.
“The plane had wheels down but a passenger was so agitated and struck out at the crew because he wanted to get off there and then.
“It was crazy so close to reaching the aircraft stand.
Passengers and airport workers looking on were dumbstruck at the emergency operation as fire, ambulance and police vehicles dashed to the scene.”
The plane, which left the Middle East 38 minutes late, took more than six hours to reach the UK on Thursday.
Airline Saudia, based in Jeddah, did not comment.
The Met Police told us they arrested a man for endangering an aircraft and fire services confirmed they were called to the incident.
Heathrow said disruption to other services was minimal.
Saudia has a fleet of 149 jets and operates to London from five Saudi cities – Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, and Neom Bay.
