Renowned singer D’banj has revisited the split of Mo’Hits, revealing that it was his partner, talented producer and music executive Don Jazzy, who proposed they go their separate ways.
It’s worth noting that Don Jazzy announced the separation of Mo’Hits in 2012, citing a disagreement between himself and D’banj as the reason.
In a recent episode of the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, D’banj asserted that Don Jazzy was entirely responsible for the Mo’Hits split.
“If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t change anything about my relationship with Don Jazzy, especially since the decision to part ways didn’t originate from me. It came entirely from Don Jazzy. That’s why we have no hard feelings,” he stated.
“Jazzy provided me with 100 percent of my catalog and perhaps 10 other songs that I haven’t released yet. It was a journey for me; although he had his views, I understood that we needed to solidify that global movement. I’m pleased that even afterward, God still blessed us with ‘Oliver Twist,’ which was the last record we released together,” he added.
D’banj expressed that he does not regret separating from Don Jazzy, emphasizing that their division was destined. However, he admitted that he misses collaborating with Don Jazzy.
