MO SALAH has been dubbed “yesterday’s man” by a former Liverpool star.

The Egyptian King – a firm fans’ favourite and icon at Anfield – has struggled for form and consistency this season, with his latest numbers against hammering that fact home.

Despite a the Reds’ superstar struggled.

The 33-year-old made just 46 touches including ZERO dribbles.

He had three shots in the game and again ZERO on target with most of his touches coming out wide with just a handful coming inside the box.

A return of just FOUR Premier League goals this term compared to 29 last season has left many scratching their heads.

But formerwinger Mark Kennedy didn’t hold back in his assessment.

Speaking to talkSPORT , he said: “I knew you’d ask me this and I was worried you’d ask me this and I am going to be controversial here.

“When I look at Salah’s stats last year, they are absolutely phenomenal. But every time I watched Liverpool last year I never liked Salah.

“I think his ball retention is really, really poor and he gives up a lot of possession.

“I don’t want to be controversial. I am a Liverpool fan and a big fan of Salah, I think he is amazing. But I think he is yesterday’s man.

“I am not surprised by his performances this year. I have been saying it for a long time and I think it has affected Liverpool.

“When you look at what Liverpool have lost this year from last year. They’ve lost a huge amount of goals.

“Salah, 29 last year and four this year. [Luis] Diaz, [Cody] Gakpo got 10 last year and he’s got five this year. They’ve lost a huge amount of goals.

“Then you look Salah’s behaviour and his comments and whilst you may have a point and may have a belief in what you say, it just doesn’t help anybody at all.”

numbers from last season to this are night and day.

In 52 appearances last term across all competitions he netted 34 goals and chipped in with 23 assists.

This campaign so far it is just seven goals and eight assists in 29 outings.

Salah has failed to find the back of the net on his last ten Premier League appearances – an unknown in his time as a Liverpool player.

That sort of drought from such a key talisman has been a key factor in the defending champions finding themselves 13 points off the pace.

They are still in the mix for the Champions League and FA Cup – but compared to last season, everything has been flipped upside down – for both the team and Salah personally.
