A MAJOR search has been launched after a man went missing in West Wales.

Ben, 47, is thought to have intended to go rock climbing when he left his home in St Davids at around midday on Wednesday.

It’s believed he had meant to head to either Carreg y Barcud area, near Trelerw, or Caer Bwdy Bay, outside St Davids in Pembrokeshire.

However, loved ones raised the alarm with the emergency services when they didn’t hear from him for hours

Both a coastguard boat and a helicopter have been involved in the search but he is yet to be found.

Ben is said to be around 5ft 11in tall, of athletic build, with short brown/greying hair and brown eyes.

He was carrying an orange bag and wearing black climbing shoes with an orange strap when he disappeared.

Dyfed-Powys Police said anyone who has seen or spoken to Ben since midday on Wednesday is urgently asked to get in touch.
