19-Year-Old Migrant Admits to Stabbing 42-Year-Old Colleague to Death in 'Unthinkable' Attack Following 'Close' Relationship

AN ILLEGAL immigrant has allegedly confessed to brutally stabbing his colleague to death in an “unspeakable” way after an “intimate” relationship.

Alexis Cedillos-Campos, from El Salvador, 19, was arrested for killing 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch in a car park 15 miles outside of Washington DC.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said the pair worked together at Bitez restaurant – a halal-eatery in Herndon, Virginia – and shared an “intimate relationship”.

Carmen, described as a “loving mum to her 3-year-old girl,” was found drenched in petrol with multiple stab wounds near the Difficult Run Park trail in Great Falls.

“Our victim suffered numerous stab wounds in a really brutal, unspeakable way,” said Davis.

Detectives are still working to piece together the full picture, including whether other relationships played a part in the killing.

Davis said: “We also know that our killer left the restaurant on the night of the murder with a fixed-blade knife.”

He said that police have CCTV of Cedillos-Campos taking the knife, a pair of black latex gloves and a water bottle “with the intent to do harm and kill the victim”.

The chief added that it was “all very premeditated”.

Cedillos-Campos then allegedly siphoned petrol from a motorbike and filled the water bottle.

After stabbing Carmen “repeatedly”, he failed to set her body alight.

Davis said: “The way that she was treated by this killer was reprehensible.”

A jogger discovered Carmen’s body lying next to her 2011 Honda Civic in a small gravel car park at around 6.45am on Monday before calling 911.

Cedillos-Campos was arrested in Maryland on Wednesday morning and is awaiting extradition to Virginia.

Davis said that the suspect confessed to the killing and was cooperating with the investigation.

Cedillos-Campos was snared by Border Patrol agents in April 2024 after he illegally crossed into the US near El Paso, Texas.

He was taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection but later released.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said: “Biden and Mayorkas hand-delivered alleged killer Cedillos-Campos to the streets of Fairfax County.

“They recklessly unleashed millions of unvetted illegal aliens into American communities and abused the law to do so.”

Davis said detectives are now interviewing witnesses, friends, family and coworkers.

He added that Cedillos-Campos’s “immigration status plays no role in how they conduct their investigations”.

Bitez owner Abdul Anwari told NBC Washington: “I don’t know if you can process something like this.

“It’s not something you expect. It’s not something that anyone would ever want to happen.

“But you know, we’re still taking it minute at a time.”

Carmen’s daughter is now being cared for by her family.

Anwari has set up a GoFundMe to help cover Carmen’s funeral costs and provide some money for her daughter.
