AN ASYLUM seeker who raped a 14-year-old girl has insisted he can’t be deported to Egypt because he’s bisexual.

However, the Home Office rejected his claim to be a Syrian national after a language assessment revealed he had lied about his roots.

This was initially considered by the government – but subsequently rejected by the Home Office upon review on Wednesday.
At a deportation tribunal on Thursday, Majdi was deemed a “high risk to children” during his .
The failed asylum seeker refused to use an interpreter during the tribunal and instead chose to defend himself under cross examination at Field House in central London.
George Mavrantonis, for the Home Office, said: “Since 2021 he claimed to be bisexual. It is an embellishment, a fabrication for the .
“In a report from 2019 the appellant reported to not currently be in a relationship, having dated girls that he has met on social media.
“There is only evidence towards his attraction to girls and none towards men. The claim must feign under the circumstances.”
Majdi, who “refused to be open” publicly about his sexuality, claimed to have had relationships with two men – although failed to produce evidence on demand.
He said that photos or texts allegedly exchanged between them had been lost after he misplaced his iPhone SIM card.
He told the court: “Since we broke up we do not speak. I’ve nothing else to say because we have no contact.”
Majdi had been living in a hostel in Hove when he travelled to East Croydon and raped the teen in what the judge described as an “opportunistic” attack.
The horrific assault left the victim’s thighs severely bruised after Majdi pinned her down, despite her protestations.
During the rape trial, it was heard that he had used the name Mano Love online to lure two underage girls into meeting him.
The migrant – who was sent to a ‘s institution before his release in 2021 – claims his original identity documents were lost at sea on his way to the UK.
He claimed that he had acquired his Syrian document from a man at a mosque in Northampton.
The Home Office questioned their authenticity however, adding that since Syria is no longer under the control of the , there is no longer a threat to returning citizens.
During the hearing it was revealed that Majdi had been convicted of further offences since his release, including possession of cocaine and “a personal quantity of cannabis”, as well as driving without a licence.
Majdi was initially given anonymity on the grounds that he is claiming asylum but the judge withdrew the order after his subsequent offences came to light.
Her Honour Judge Shani Barnes said his internet activity was hugely alarming.
Judge R M Abdar will rule on whether he accepts Majdi’s sexuality and nationality claims in a judgement next month.
He will remain on the sex offender’s register for life.
