Another setback for Michelle Keegan as BBC drama is CANCELLED after two series

Fans will be pleased to see Michelle back on screens after facing another significant setback, as her last BBC drama has been cancelled after two series.

The period drama followed a group of British citizens who emigrated from post-war Britain to Australia in the 1950s, with Michelle portraying nurse Kate Thorne.

A spokesperson stated: “It’s been a joy to bring the story of the Ten Pound Poms to life for BBC viewers, and we are truly grateful to Danny Brocklehurst, Eleven, and all the cast and crew who have worked on the series.”

The gentle drama made a splash when it first aired in May 2023, attracting 6.37 million viewers, but that number halved to 3.15 million by the conclusion of series two in April this year.

The show's cancellation comes as the former star bids farewell to her hit series, just as she is returning to work after becoming a first-time mother.
