The French winger, known for his painfully awkward media appearances, barely said a word, even when his icon tried to get him to speak.

Fresh from Bayern’s chaotic 4-3 victory, which sealed their place in the semi-finals, the pair were put in front of the cameras on CBS.

But what followed quickly went viral.

CBS presenter and the production crew also had issues with microphones and wiring, which did not help.

At one stage, Olise had to change microphones, while Kane was already speaking live on television.

The technical issues, combined with Olise’s shy demeanour, only added to the awkwardness.

The whole nature of the build-up, the mic issues, and Olise’s body language led Jamie Carragher to describe it as the “best-worst interview” he had ever seen.

Host then jumped in to tell viewers to bear with them as they worked through the technical problems.

Schmeichel also told Olise that Thierry Henry had said he enjoyed watching him play, to which Olise simply smiled and said he was ‘happy’.

The unusual nature of the interview, combined with his famously shy presence on television, left everyone in the studio laughing.

Thierry Henry came in again and twice asked if Olise could hear him.

Olise eventually responded softly that he could, with Henry referencing an incident that happened at the Olympic Games in 2024 during a match between Argentina and France that Olise was part of.
