Manchester City star, Erling Haaland has delivered an honest opinion on the rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He also dismissed the narrative that he and Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe will step in the shoes of Messi and Ronaldo.
There has been debate on whether Haaland and Mbappe will be the next Ronaldo and Messi, who are regarded as the greatest footballers of all generations.
Ronaldo and Messi have had a rivalry spanning more than 10 years but are now in the twilight of their enviable careers.
“I think the media has been doing that with Ronaldo and Messi for the last 10 years and I think they’ve been pushing each other as well,” Haaland told Viaplay.
“I think it’s been a positive thing. Barcelona and Madrid against each other.
“It’s been the perfect rivalry. But I don’t think about this [rivalry between him and Mbappe], honestly.”
