Veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Babatunde Bamgbode, better known as Baba Fokoko, has refuted claims made by his colleagues regarding the 2023 election campaign.
According to DAILY POST, Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola were among the numerous Nollywood celebrities who supported Tinubu's presidential campaign during the 2023 general elections.
He expressed regret two years after Tinubu’s victory for his endorsement.
In response to Alapini’s interview, Lalude criticized the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), MC Oluomo, for his involvement in the campaign.
However, in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, actor Baba Fokoko disputed Lalude's statements, emphasizing that MC Oluomo never promised them any rewards.
“He didn’t promise to reward any of us. He didn’t make any promises to me, but he intended to treat us well. It’s been over two years! He didn’t guarantee anyone anything,” he stated.
“He provided food items for us to share during the campaign and instructed us to distribute the leftovers among ourselves. We took home those food items more than twice. However, he never pledged to compensate us after the campaign.”
