MC Mong is stepping down from his role as a producer for ONE HUNDRED and will be going abroad to study.
On July 17, MC Mong posted a lengthy message on his social media account. Read his full post below:
Hello, Mongkids (MC Mong’s fan club name)!
First of all, I thought it was most important to let the fans know first.
I have been suffering from extremely severe depression, and after a surgery and a decline in my health, it became so difficult that making music was almost impossible for me. Please don’t pay attention to any rumors or stories floating aroundâI want to focus on finding a way that will allow me to make music for a longer time.
As for my beloved ONE HUNDRED and my work as a BPM producer, I am entrusting everything to Chairman Cha Ga Won, and I have decided to study abroad for the sake of my health and my own personal growth.
Even though I am at an age where it feels late, my desire to improve and to become healthier is stronger than ever.
I am preparing and will release an album this year.
And I think this is my last wishâto focus on studying music and learning languages.
Being a producer and creator, which felt like a dream, made me so happy, and I still love and support everyone I worked with.
I was always worried that I might overshadow their light, and I felt like a burden to their fans, which weighed heavily on my heart.
They will shine even brighter, and I, like all of you, hope that with unwavering support, they will become even greater artists together with their fans.
And to my 26-year-old friends Mongkids, I promise to release an album this year no matter what and to hold a concertâwhich may be the last for a whileâbefore I go abroad to study.
I have lived my life writing songs for others, and I was happy and content with that, but I am sorry that it took me so long to realize that my music means everything to you.
Your lives and mine are so similar, and all of my stories and songs have always been your stories.
Today’s sun cannot dry tomorrow’s wet clothes, but I am happy because you will still be there to listen to my music tomorrow.
