Fabregas, who was also sent off for his in the argument, issued an apology after the game, telling Dazn Italia: “I want to apologise first and foremost, I did something I am not proud of, and was unsporting.
“We’ve got to keep our hands to ourselves, as Chivu said the other day, especially the coaches.”
Allegri, 58, refused to relent after the full-time whistle, telling reporters: “I think there was a foul, where, among other things, if I’m not mistaken, Saelemaekers was trying to restart play and was pulled back by someone on the bench, Fabregas I think.
“He apologised? I understand, so if next time someone goes down the line, I’ll slide tackle them.
