MARTIN Kemp has stepped down from Greatest Hits Radio after five years of conducting his weekend show, “The Mix Tape”.

The Spandau Ballet and star, 64, shall be using his time to focus on other things, including performing live DJ sets over the summer.

His last show on the station will air on April 4, before new host takes the reigns on April 10.

Speaking on the decision, said: “I’ve had an incredible run on but it’s time to let someone else share their Mix Tapes with the nation.

“I’ve got a busy year ahead with my Back to the 80s live shows, so now is the right time to step back.

“I know I’m leaving the listeners in safe hands with Jenny.”

Jenny is a radio and television presenter, known for hosting a wide range of shows including , Live Talk, and Daybreak.

In her three-decade long career, she’s also worked with Top of the Pops, and .

Most recently the star was confirmed as the host for the 2026 Creative Awards.

In a statement of her own, Jenny shared her excitement about stepping up to take over Mix Tape.

She said: “I’m so excited! I’ve loved waking up with the Breakfast Club listeners on weekend mornings.

“But time for a change. I’m going to be swapping my early morning alarm calls and turning up the volume on Friday and Saturday nights for the iconic Mix Tape show!

“Can’t wait to share the music and big energy with everyone!”

Greatest Hits Radio‘s content director Andy Ashton additionally shared a special word of thanks to Martin for all he has poured into his time on the airwaves.

He expressed: “I want to say a huge thank you to Martin for being such a big part of our station over the last five years and for sharing his stories and favourite weekend anthems with our listeners.

“I’m delighted to say that he’ll remain very much part of the Greatest Hits Radio family with a number of projects we’ll be announcing later in the year.”

Andy continued to share his excitement about Jenny taking over, and how he’s sure she will do a “great job”.

He continued: “And I’m thrilled that Jenny Powell will be bringing her unique energy to Friday and Saturday nights, coming live from our studios in .

“I know she’ll do a great job on the Mix Tape, having a conversation with the nation and playing the weekends essential songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s.”
