The 65-year-old violated The Master’s notorious no-phone policy and was booted from the course he played 18 times during his career.
In response to the decision, Calcavecchia told Golfweek that he’s “got nothing negative to say about Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, so I think we should literally hang up right now,” before hanging up his phone.
Calcavecchia won the British Open in 1989 and has 13 PGA Tour victories.
He also has a 1989 Open Championship win on his resume.
Calcavecchia is currently competing on the senior circuit, the PGA Tour Champions.
