MARC GUEHI may depart from Crystal Palace this month if Manchester City meets their £40 million valuation.

Oliver Glasner, the manager of Palace, has not dismissed the possibility of Guehi being sold amid their injury crisis.

Ruben Dias is facing an extended period on the sidelines due to injury.

Although Glasner does not wish to lose his captain, he acknowledges that a substantial offer could compel the club to consider the sale, as they value Guehi at £40 million.

However, Guehi himself will need persuading, especially since he is set to become a free agent in the summer, which would likely involve a considerable signing-on fee.

Glasner stated: “There will come a time when the club decides that the financial aspect takes precedence over the sporting aspect.”

“I’m not so naive to think that if a significant offer comes from City and Marc is inclined to accept it, it might happen.”

Palace had previously halted a £35 million move on deadline day last summer and have now increased their asking price, considering they would need to find a replacement for Guehi this month.

Glasner had already been seeking defensive reinforcements and disclosed that prior to City’s two injuries, they were exploring a potential acquisition of one of City’s defenders.

He added: “Perhaps we wanted to sign a player from Man City, but that’s no longer possible due to our own injuries.”

“Was that the case? Yes.”

“I know that Marc will play [against Aston Villa] tomorrow. At least, I expect him to, as he has trained.”
