COPS have launched an urgent manhunt after a 71-year-old woman was found dead with “significant injuries”.

Officers and emergency services scrambled to the scene at a property on Bath Road in Hounslow, West London, on Sunday, just after 10am.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Forensic investigators continue to work the home which remains a scene as officers appeal for witness to come forward.

So far there have been no arrests in connection with the death, said the Met Police.

The woman’s next of have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, who is leading the , said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life.

“We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.

“We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward.

“Even small pieces of information can prove vital.

“Extra patrols will be carried out in the local area to provide reassurance to residents.
