A WOMAN has allegedly been raped in a park in broad daylight by a man wearing all black with his face covered.
were called to Central Forest Park in Hanley, , on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 17, after the woman reported the attack.
Officers said the suspect had fled the area in the aftermath of the alleged assault.
They were described as having their face covered, wearing all black clothing and approximately 6ft 2 inches tall.
Specialist are supporting the victim in the aftermath of the reported attack.
Between 11.30am and 11.50am, a male jogger ran past the alleged victim as she was coming out of a shrubbed area.
He was running in the direction of the car park and asked her if she was okay.
are asking for the jogger to contact them – believing he may be able to help with enquiries into the reported rape.
And, in the same area earlier that day, cops said a man approached another woman as she walked her dog.
The man allegedly asked to stroke her dog before walking off – cops said there was no evidence the two incidents are linked.
In the second incident, the man was described as older in appearance, wearing a green wax jacket, grey shorts and blue Crocs.
Detectives hunting the suspect are asking for anyone with any information that may assist them to come forward.
Police said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help with our who hasn’t already spoken to officers, or anyone who was in the park during these times and saw anything suspicious.
