MANCHESTER UNITED’S young guns had their title push put on hold after their showdown with Leeds was called off.

But a waterlogged pitch led to the clash being postponed a matter of hours before kick-off.
And Man Utd released a brief statement on X to confirm that the meeting would not go ahead.
It read: “Following a pitch inspection, today’s PL2 game has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.”
The game was originally due to be held at LNER Community Stadium, the home of side York, tonight.
It was then brought forward to 1pm and moved to Leeds’ training ground at Thorp Arch.
But any hopes of the match going ahead – even after a change of venue – were ended after a failed pitch inspection this morning.
The surface was deemed unplayable, due to the persistent weather conditions, and the encounter will have to be rescheduled.
The Under-21s are level on points with table-topping Chelsea, but with a game in hand.
And they would have fancied their chances of beating a Leeds side with just four wins from 13 games.

Further down the youth ranks, Man Utd will have JJ Gabriel available for their FA Youth Cup fifth round tie at Oxford .
