MANCHESTER UNITED are set to release a special fourth kit to celebrate a significant anniversary next season.

The 2026-27 campaign will mark 125 years since the Red Devils adopted their iconic red, white and black colour combination.

The change occurred in in 1902 – when the team rebranded from Newton Heath to .

When known as Newton Heath, they had a green and gold colour scheme.

One of two versions of the new United fourth kit will therefore be those colours.

Footy Headlines reports the green strip may only be used by goalkeepers on the pitch.

Meanwhile, the primary version will feature the iconic Man Utd red base with white shorts and black socks to directly honour the famous 1902 change.

It’s believed the fourth kit will likely be debuted during a domestic cup or European fixture rather than a standard game.

United have maintained a strict three-shirt rotation historically, with the exception of a special EA Sports fourth kit and some European outfits.

The Red Devils last month.

United described the kit as “a tribute to the club’s iconic 1970s style and triumph.”

The collar and cuffs are a nod to the famous strips United wore in that era.
