Received another chorus of “Are you Schmeichel in disguise?” after making a crucial save against Alexander Isak in a one-on-one situation.
Although there were a few nervy moments, his overall ball handling was steady.
MATTHIJS DE LIGT – 7
Moved to the right to make room for Harry Maguire's return to the center and appeared somewhat uneasy.
He was caught flat-footed when Cody Gakpo struck the post but improved after a conversation with Amorim in the 34th minute.
From that point on, he defended more confidently, even as United relied on luck with Liverpool hitting the woodwork three times.
HARRY MAGUIRE – 8
Continued to show why he leads by example at United, rallying the team in the tunnel before kick-off.
He defended robustly to justify his selection and scored the decisive goal late in the match.
Clearly benefited from the recent international break.

LUKE SHAW – 8
Though he may not fit perfectly into Thomas Tuchel's system, Shaw's current form could earn him a spot back in the England squad.
He delivered a classy and composed performance as United's longest-serving player.
Shaw made few mistakes and quickly rectified any errors he did make.
AMAD DIALLO – 7
Proved once again why he has remained under Amorim while four other wingers have been let go. He outpaced Milos Kerkez and assisted Bryan Mbeumo for the opening goal.
Received a questionable booking from referee Michael Oliver, which likely led to his substitution just before the hour mark.
CASEMIRO – 7
Amorim contemplated benching Casemiro but ultimately chose not to, and it paid off. Against a lackluster Liverpool, he was able to assert himself and provided a disciplined presence in front of United’s back three.
He was cautioned just before the hour mark and was substituted immediately due to his tendency to be reckless when booked.

BRUNO FERNANDES – 8
While Liverpool switched off, Fernandes remained alert and initiated the play to Amad, leading to United's early goal.
Fernandes had a strong return at Anfield last season and delivered another professional and composed performance. He provided an excellent cross for Maguire’s header.
DIOGO DALOT – 5
By a significant margin, Dalot was United's least effective player.
His poor distribution led to Gakpo's chance and another opportunity for Liverpool, as he struggled to find success against Conor Bradley despite the right-back's recent difficulties.
After Amad's substitution, he moved to the right wing and appeared slightly more comfortable.
