MANCHESTER UNITED will not be moving for Chelsea left back Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella’s Chelsea future is in doubt and United are expected to recruit a long-term left back this summer.

But Cucurella is not on United’s radar and Chelsea sources expect him to move abroad if he does leave.

Cucurella’s own preference would be to leave for an overseas club after he

was part of the Manchester City delegation that attempted to sign Cucurella from Brighton in 2022.

Chelsea, who had been taken over by Clearlake Capital only months earlier, gazumped City with a £63million offer.

Cucurella, 27, still has three years left on his Chelsea contract and is outside of United’s preferred age range of 22-26 for targets.

United considered a loan deal for Cucurella in the 2023 summer transfer window after Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sustained long-term injuries but ended up bringing in compatriot Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham.

Cucurella stayed at Chelsea and ended that season in the starting line-up for Spain as they won the European Championship.

Malacia will be released by United when his contract expires at the end of this month and Shaw is out of contract next year.
