A MAN in Germany has successfully sued a birthing centre because women giving birth were apparently too loud.
The disgruntled neighbour complained that the sounds of women in labour were simply too much for him to bear.

According to the complainant, the cries and groans from the delivery room were disrupting the peace.
In an unusual legal battle that left staff stunned, the man filed a lawsuit against the centre in an attempt to silence the noise.
While a formal verdict was never delivered, the case still had consequences.
To avoid the risk of an unfavourable ruling, the facility agreed to stop using the birthing room in question.
The decision has left staff both frustrated and baffled – particularly because of how long it took the neighbour to complain.
The centre only opened last year yet the man waited months before raising any issue.
Sarah Wolff, the head of the birthing centre, told Trier Volksfreund: “We would have preferred to meet with the man eight months ago and ask: Hey what do you need?”
According to residents, the plaintiff only moved from the ground floor to the fourth floor four weeks ago – directly opposite the centre.
Some also claim he had threatened legal action even before the birthing facility officially opened its doors.
Locals have since rallied behind the centre, describing it as a valuable service for families in the community.
One resident said: “It’s sad that such a great facility is being boycotted.”
Another neighbour, 57-year-old Frank Otten, said the complaints simply don’t add up.
“I live in the house door and don’t hear a thing from the birthing centre,” he said.
“Such a complaint is unacceptable.”
For expectant mothers, the situation is particularly disappointing.
One pregnant woman told BILD : “I wanted to give birth to my second child in this birthing room.”
Meanwhile, midwives at the centre insist the noise issue has been wildly exaggerated.
They say women in labour typically groan rather than scream.
In the rare cases where a mother does cry out loudly, she is usually transferred to hospital.
This means it seldom affects the birthing centre itself.
