A cyclist named Wisdom Chisom, who departed from Lagos on a bicycle, has reached Nvosi, the hometown of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, after a six-day journey from Lagos.
Chisom, who set off from Lagos last Monday, arrived in Abia on Saturday and made his way to the Governor’s residence in Nvosi, located in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.
The cyclist, originally from Nunya in Isuikwuato LGA of Abia, was introduced to Governor Otti on Monday following the State’s weekly Executive Council meeting.
In explaining his journey, the cyclist stated that he undertook the long ride from Lagos to Abia State to express his gratitude to Governor Otti for the reconstruction of the 11.5-KM Nunya-Eluama road in his village, along with other initiatives in Abia.
He acknowledged the dangers of cycling from Lagos to Abia State, particularly with regard to security and road safety concerns, but emphasized that he was willing to take the risks in order to meet the Governor.
During his reception at the Governor's residence, Governor Otti expressed that his main focus was to enhance the welfare of the people of Abia and to bring them joy.
Otti encouraged Wisdom Chisom to continue being a responsible citizen of the state and mentioned that the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports had brought his attention to this remarkable development.
