Officers located a man requiring medical assistance in the vicinity of Pier Approach.
Despite the paramedics' best efforts, he was declared dead at the scene.
The circumstances of his death are not being considered suspicious, and his family has been informed.
A representative for the police stated: “Dorset received a call at 12:06 AM on Saturday, December 20, from the ambulance service requesting assistance concerning a man in need of medical help on Bournemouth Beach near Pier Approach.
“Regrettably, it was confirmed that the man, aged in his 50s, had passed away.
“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death were conducted, and his family has been notified. The death is not regarded as suspicious.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends during this challenging time.”
