‘Not Man City?’ – Jose Mourinho coy after he’s grilled over Chelsea’s historic financial charges on return to London

JOSE MOURINHO dismissed a question related to the 74 charges that Chelsea are facing for alleged breaches of agents regulations under Roman Abramovich.

The statement read: “The Association has today charged FC with breaches of regulations J1 and C2 of the FA Football Agent regulations, regulations A2 and A3 of the FA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries and regulations A1 and B3 of the FA Third Party Investment in Players Regulations.

“In total, 74 charges have been brought against Chelsea FC.

“Conduct that is the subject of the charges ranges from 2009 to 2022 and finality relates to events which occurred between the 2010-11 the 2015-16 playing seasons.”

Legendary Portuguese boss was at the helm for five of the years in question across two stints with the club.

This led to him being grilled in regard to the charges at a pre-match press conference for new club ‘s clash with the Blues at .

He was asked if it would be unfair to punish the club, and potentially strip them of accolades, as a result of the alleged off-pitch offences.

But Mourinho was coy in his short and sweet response, refusing to get involved with the conversation surrounding the charges, and instead dragging another club’s legal battle into focus.

His blunt riposte read: “Not Man City?”

City are waiting for a verdict on their own case with the FA, in which they were charged with 115 regulations breaches in early 2023.

A three-month hearing related to the charges went ahead between September and December of last year, but no verdict has been given as yet.

He continued: “I have no idea about it. I have no idea of what the charges are. I will try to understand it.”
