MANCHESTER CITY stars “face losing millions” if they are demoted from the Premier League, according to reports.

The former Prem champions have of more than 100 of the 130 charges levelled against them.

Sanctions against City have not yet been confirmed, but could include a combination of points deductions, fines and even EXPULSION from the league.

Should the latter come to fruition, City stars would likely be hit in the pocket.

According to the Mail , many City players’ full salaries are reliant on bonuses.

They claim that ordinarily the club splits its deals into a basic wage, bonus, and a further payment depending on how many minutes they have played across the season.

The latter bonus is said to be triggered by playing anywhere between 60 to 75 per cent of City’s minutes.

But it’s claimed that it is made clear in contracts that these minutes must be played in the Premier League – meaning a relegation would make them unachievable.

Otherwise, however, there are no specific relegation clauses.

  • December 14-18 – Possible date for maximum five-day appeal hearing
  • January 17 – Deadline for commission to produce final verdict

City are finally set to return to action this Sunday, as they take on at Anfield in their first match since the verdict came to light.

It remains to be seen how boss will deal with the delicate situation among his players.

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s that City chiefs have sought to reassure stars.

Enzo Railo told Italian radio: “Will the Manchester City chaos change anything?

“No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio.

“News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm.

“Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course.

“But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City.”

Club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak vowed “nothing has changed” in a statement last week, while CEO Ferran Soriano .
