The hosts were gifted the lead in the 12th minute as Esteve put through his own net.

However, Burnley found themselves level just before half-time through Jaidon Anthony despite City’s domination.

Pep Guardiola’s side restored their lead 16 minutes into the second half as Matheus Nunes volleyed in from point-blank range.

That goal spurred City on as they forced home another own goal to make the deficit two.

Erling Haaland wrapped up the win with his seventh goal of the season in injury time.

The striker then nabbed his second of the day in the 93rd minute to add some extra gloss to the result.
