A MAN has been charged with sexual assault after a woman was allegedly attacked while sunbathing at a popular beach.
Mohammed Maatoug, 33, was arrested after the victim reported being assaulted at Camber Sands in Rye, East Sussex.

The alleged attack occurred on the dunes at the tourist hotspot at around 5.30pm on August 25.
Sussex Police confirmed Maatoug had been charged with sexual assault by penetration on Saturday.
In a statement, the force said: “33-year-old Mohammed Maatoug was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault by penetration.
“He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (9 September).
“Maatoug will next appear at a court to be confirmed on 7 October.”
