A MAN has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a town centre car park.
Cops swooped on the 27-year-old man on Friday night, two days following the horrifying attack on a woman in her 20s.
The alleged rape is said to have taken place at Lyndhurst Road car park in Worthing at around 8pm on Wednesday.
Cops have confirmed the suspect was detained on the evening of March 13 and he remains in custody.
Specialist officers are continuing to support the victim.
Cops say the is ongoing as they piece together what happened.

A Police spokesperson said: “A 27-year-old man has been arrested this evening (Friday 13 March), following a report of a woman being raped in Lyndhurst Road car park, Worthing, around 8pm on Wednesday 11 March.
“He remains in custody at this time.
“The woman, in her 20s, continues to be supported by specialist officers.
“We wish to thank the public for their support and information, which has been of assistance to the investigation, and continue to ask anyone with any information that may be of relevance to contact us online or via 101 quoting Operation Blyth.”
