A MAJOR airport has been partially closed with cops scrambling to the scene.
Drop-off forecourts at Terminal Two are shut after were called to the scene at 8am this morning.
The upper and lower level forecourts of Terminal Two are currently closed.
Manchester Airport is advising passengers to allow extra time for their journeys if travelling to the airport by car.
Delays are expected this afternoon.
Drop-offs can be made at the JetParks1 area, where a five-minute shuttle bus is taking passengers to Terminal Two.
A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: “The airport said: “Due to a police incident, the upper and lower level forecourt of Terminal Two remains closed. For those travelling to Terminal Two by road please see below:
“For Drop Off – use the free drop-off area in the JetParks1 car park until further notice, and follow the instructions of traffic marshals on site.
“For Pick Up – please access T2 West Multi Storey – P3 via Sydney Avenue (postcode: M90 5PR).
“Terminal Three is unaffected. Please allow plently of time for travel to and from the airport. We will provide a further update in due course.”
It’s understood police were first called to concerns for a person’s welfare at around 8am this morning.
