But her friend insisted that she knew it was true and took out her own phone and asked the pair if they would like to see.

Nelly stated: “I would love to see it.”

Her friend then passed Nelly the phone – with Steven’s profile active on a dating app. She added that Steven was on the dating app that day.

Now, Steven has revealed that he’s actually quit the hit dating show in a new post shared on social media.

The reality star posted a photo of himself from homestays week.

He penned: “The smile of a man who left the experiment after partner swap and still showed up to give the ‘audience’ what they wanted.

“‘Are you not entertained?’

“Yeah, that’s right… I refused home stays, because there was nothing romantic there from me. A conversation the ‘ex wife’ knew about as she was sat right next to me when speaking to producers.”

Then Steven ended his post by writing: “Signing out, Mr Villain.”

Angry fans have since responded to Steven’s post, after the dating app saga on Sunday night’s show.

One person wrote: “Realistically, nothing you did at the start, middle or end was genuine. Blame time stamps, editing and even family issues all you want. The moralistic approach would have been to refuse to do it in fear of hurting someone, whether it meant ‘breaking the contract’ or not.”

A second penned: “You clearly didn’t like her for a while l find it strange you didn’t just leave early. literally weeks ago you checked out. Why did you stay?”

And a third echoed: “So if you’d done nothing wrong because the relationship was already over, why did you lie about being on Hinge?”

Steven also posted a statement to share his side of the story.

He wrote: “Understand that my ‘home stay’ was very much ‘back to normal’.

“Back to normal life, back to working life, back to dad life, back to being ‘me’.

“A reminder that things you’re about to see are all for the ‘story’ and for the ‘audience’ at home to see how that story goes.”

Steve continued: “The last supper was a ‘do we have to’ moment when the book was very much closed after a certain swap.

“What I got up to at home was because things were done elsewhere.”

But he was clearly still unimpressed when his behaviour was exposed on the show, later taking to Instagram again to hit out at the show.

He wrote: “Not watching #MAFSUK tonight.

“I saw this episode on Thursday.

“So, there’ll be no posts about it after the show this evening. I’ve said my part pre-show and I’ll leave it at that.”
