since starting out on the show and marrying each other before even meeting – with one groom even ending up on a app before splitting from his wife.
But on Tuesday night’s episode, fans watched as Nelly and Steven and April and Leo decided to call it quits.
After a tough Homestays week, April and Leo both decided to write leave after giving it one final shot and travelled to each other’s home towns.
April can be heard saying: “Genuinely Leo, you have been so lovely, and I’m thankful that I’ve been paired with someone that was so kind and caring.
“But I am going to leave.”
The experts – Charlene, Paul and Mel – then ask Leo for his decision, to which he says: “We obviously came here to find love and we’ve been through this experiment together.
“I’ve learnt so much about myself during this time as well, and you’re amazing but as sad as it is, all good things have to come to an end.”
Leo then reveals that he has also chosen to leave the experiment, marking an end to their marriage.
April’s marriage to Leo rapidly went downhill, as she struggled to develop an emotional connection with her husband.
And they weren’t the only couple to both put leave during the show’s sad episode.
Nelly and Steven also chose to call it quits, which might not come as much of a surprise to fans after recent scenes.
Sitting on the commitment ceremony couch, Nelly says: “I have decided to do what is best for me and leave.”
Mel then hands over the mic to Steven who says: “I am gutted that I haven’t been able to give to you what you deserve and what you want.
“It has been challenging but being introduced to you is a very big moment in my life in terms of impact.”
Steven begins to cry, before adding: “You’ve allowed me to be like this now, and you’ve brought this side out of me which I’ve had off for so long.
“In terms of impact and what you’ve done for me, it’s massive.
“But for me to grow as a person and to spend time with my kids too who I miss massively, I think it’s right for me to leave as well.”
Controversial groom Steven has repeatedly come under fire from E4 fans who previously called for him to be axed over his cruel attitude towards his wife – and this week, things took another bad turn.
On the latest episode, Nelly headed back to Manchester alone after Steven refused to join her
Eventually he turned up where he was confronted by his wife’s friend who revealed he was still on a dating app , and had been active that morning.
Steven denied he was on it, despite wife Nelly showing him the proof on her friend’s phone.
The groom was seen getting angry, after it was revealed he had been caught out.
However, he continued to deny he had any knowledge of this dating app.
In response to this, wife Nelly has shared a scathing social media post.
Taking to Instagram, the disgruntled bride poked fun at her husband and shared a picture of herself swaddled like a baby.
She then cheekily wrote next to it: “Since he thinks I was born yesterday!”
Fans loved Nelly’s post, with one writing: “You deserve so much more than that Steven!”
