Fans of Married At First Sight UK have expressed their anger towards one bride after she told “bare-faced lies” about her husband.

In Sunday night’s episode, the other couples discovered that Julia-Ruth Smith and Divarni Balogun had actually been intimate, despite her claims to the contrary.

Their co-stars discussed the fact that she had been dishonest with them throughout the process.

Viewers at home were also displeased, taking to X to express their frustration with Julia-Ruth’s behavior. One viewer remarked, “Julia-Ruth is scary boy #MAFSUK,” while another said, “Julia-Ruth is a very strange person.”

Another fan vented, “Julia-Ruth has no respect for anyone but herself (and maybe Stephen) #MAFSUK.”

Someone else commented, “There’s a difference between keeping secrets and outright lying; Julia-Ruth is acting like a brat #MAFSUK.”

Later in the episode, Divarni learned that Julia-Ruth had told the other couples that she wasn’t physically attracted to him.

A fellow groom informed him, “She said, ‘I’ve told that boy ten times, I don’t fancy him. I’ve told him I don’t fancy him.’”

“She mentioned to the girls that she doesn’t consider you her type and doesn’t think you’ll ever be her type,” he continued.

“Has she mentioned this to you?” Bailey asked Divarni, to which he replied, “No, she hasn’t. That’s the issue.”

Bailey reacted, “That’s outrageous. She’s been saying something completely different to everyone else behind your back.”

“It’s not fair, and you’ve been respectful, but in my opinion, she hasn’t shown the same to you. She seems more focused on her image than your feelings, which is quite shady.”

A disheartened Divarni admitted, “If I had known that, I could have just walked away and asked, ‘Why am I even here?’ I’m at a loss.”

When they finally faced each other, he told her, “This makes me look like I’m delusional. It’s insulting because we both know the truth.”

“I don’t care if others know we’ve been intimate; you do. If you’re embarrassed by me, just say it openly.”

She retorted, “I’ve mentioned before that we’ve had attraction issues.”

In Wednesday night’s episode, the group discussed which couples had been intimate and which had not.

They concluded that due to their lack of intimacy, Julia-Ruth and Divarni’s relationship seemed to be in trouble, even though they had been intimate.

Upset with his wife lying to their co-stars, Divarni expressed his frustration, stating, “The group thinks my marriage is a joke.”

“She is creating a false narrative; the truth is we have been intimate,” he added. “She lied to the group and to the experts.”

Back at their flat, Julia-Ruth exclaimed, “Do you want me to sit on the couch and say the sex is terrible?”

Divarni snapped back, “I don’t care if you say it’s bad, at least be honest with yourself.”
