MARRIED At First Sight UK star Nathanial Valentino has alleged that two men were sexually assaulted during filming of the show.

The groom, who was paired with on the programme, also suggested that Channel 4 and CPL Productions ‘covered up’ these events.

Nathanial admitted he encouraged those to “speak up” and has now shared his post in a bid to hold Channel 4 and CPL Productions accountable for their conduct.

Taking to social media, Nathanial reveals he “called for honesty and accountability” both during and following his time on the show.

In his online statement, he said: “When I urged my fellow participants to stand up and speak their truth, silence prevailed because they were more invested in the success the show brought them.”

He further added that “two men were sexually assaulted” during filming across the programme, which first began in 2015.

Directing his concerns to Channel 4 and CPL, he went on to say: “They were warned that speaking out would lead to their removal from the show.

“This raised an urgent question for the welfare management and producers of the show what do you have to say about this? @mafsuk @cplproductions @channel4.”

He further added: “The experience has profoundly impacted my ability to trust.

“It’s time we prioritise truth and accountability.”

In a statement, the broadcaster said: “In April, Channel 4 was presented with serious allegations of wrongdoing against a small number of past contributors, allegations that we understand those contributors have denied.

“The channel is mindful of the privacy and continuing duty of care towards all contributors and cannot comment on or disclose details of those allegations.

“Related to those allegations, Channel 4 was asked to respond to claims of failures in welfare protocols.

“Channel 4 believes that when concerns related to contributor welfare were raised through existing welfare and production protocols, prompt and appropriate action was taken, based on the information available at the time.

“Channel 4 strongly refutes any claim to the contrary.”

and CPL have said that the welfare protocols are robust and comprehensive.
