THE annual MAFS Australia retreat ended in tears and tantrums after a bride’s ‘vulgar’ comment about another couple.

This year’s retreat saw the cast descend on an idyllic farm stay in Kiama, in New South Wales, and everyone was getting along swimmingly until one bride’s divisive speech.

Gathered together outside chatting and drinking, felt the need to mark the occasion with a toast to her co-stars.

“Ladies and Gentleman,” she began. “Guys, I wanted to just call us here tonight because it’s the first night of the retreat and we’ve had ‘I love yous’ and we’ve had a couple that I thought could not come back from the brink of hell bounce back.

“And we’ve had ********,” Bec continued, making direct reference to couple Rachel and Stephen.

Earlier in the evening, in their relationship.

But Bec’s comment – which was censored by – didn’t go down well with Rachel, who found it ‘vulgar’ and ‘insensitive’.

“Jesus,” she said aloud. “Not okay.”

“I didn’t think it was funny,” Rachel continued in a piece to camera. “She turned something that Stephen and I were excited about telling the others about where we’re at into a joke.”

Fellow bride Stella agreed with Rachel, saying Bec’s comment was “unnecessary.”

While co-star Sammy said that Rachel was sensitive and that while Bec’s remark might have been a joke, she should apologise for it not being taken well.

“Bec, a quick apology to Rach,” he put to her, with Bec replying “Oh Rach, I’m so sorry, I apologise, it was meant to be a bit of fun.”

“Well it’s not funny,” Rachel hit back. “I shared openly with you guys that we took intimacy to the next level which is really important for Stephen and I and you just made a joke of it.”

In an aside to camera, Stephen added that he ‘felt awkward’ following the remark, given he’s ‘not open about his sex life’.

Bec however did not take Rachel’s response lightly and defensively said: “You’re very quick to turn, it was not meant with malice at all.

“We’re here all celebrating with you, we celebrate you all the time that’s what we’re doing. Jesus Christ.”

Rachel then got up and said she was ‘done’ leaving the group gathering.

“I mean whose husband helped him [Stephen] get there? Mine,” Bec blurted out as her co-star walked away.

“She needs to relax, Jesus Christ. She’s sensitive but we’re celebrating her.”

Rachel was later seen breaking down in tears over the incident with her groom comforting her following the row.

The brides war left MAFS viewers divided online however, with people taking different sides on the argument.

“Just when you think Bec can’t sink any lower. Awful human. Poor Rachel,” wrote one on X.

While another wrote: “The audacity of Bec to say Rachel is “hard work”. Rachel is a walk in the park, compared to her.”

Others however disagreed claiming that Rachel shouldn’t have taken the comment to heart.

“I’m not normally team Bec, her past actions have been awful! But Rachel really took it to the extreme over 1 little vulgar comment which was only a bit of banter,” penned another.

“She’s constantly giggling & seems very immature for a woman in her mid 30’s.”

“I know Bec is a piece of work but I feel Rachel takes things too seriously sometimes..” agreed one other viewer.

A third added: “Unpopular opinion. Bec made a horrid comment….butttttt she is right about Rachel needing attention. Get over it Rachel, also, how cringe making a big announcement like that.”

The next day, the two brides actively avoided one another until they were forced together as part of girls’ night.

Rachel decided to revisit the issue and shared that she felt humiliated by her words and Bec apologised again.

However, Rachel wasn’t satisfied claiming that Bec has apologised countless times over the series while hurting others.

“I honestly thought last night was my time to be brought to tears by Bec and I’m kind of like when will this behaviour change?” she said to her co-star.

“When do these ‘I’m sorrys’ actually become real.”

Following Rachel’s comment, Bec then swiftly departed the girls night.

“There’s nothing more to say,” she said, taking off her mic and storming out the room. “Get me out of here now.”
