A leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, Saeedu Abdurrahman, has claimed that four herders were killed while one was injured in an attack perpetrated by natives in Fili village in Doemak district of the council.

Abdurrahman, who is the treasurer of MACBAN in Qua’an Pan, confirmed the incident to journalists in Jos on Thursday. He said the herders were grazing their animals in the area when they were attacked on Tuesday evening.

He added that the attackers specifically targeted the victims and, after the killings, fled without stealing any cattle or other livestock.

The MACBAN leader further explained that while the relatives of the deceased were burying the victims, another set of gunmen attacked the mourners but were repelled by security guards escorting the bodies to the cemetery.

A relative of the victims, Shanono Muhammad, who also spoke with journalists, said among the deceased was a young boy who had joined them to learn about cattle rearing when they were attacked and killed.
