A MAJOR UK motorway has ground to a halt near a busy airport following a “police led incident.”
The M5 near Taunton, Somerset, has been closed in both directions between Junction 25 and Junction 24.

Emergency services have been scrambled to respond and are working to clear the chaotic scene with reports of “people in the road.”
Road traffic cameras reportedly show figures in the road and police vehicles attending the incident.
Dense traffic and heavy queues have begun to pile up as a result of the mayhem.
National Highways said: “The M5 near Taunton is blocked in both directions between J25 and J24 due to a police led incident.
“Avon and Somerset Police are on scene. Further updates to follow.”
A diversion route for northbound motorists has been put in place, marked by circle diversion symbols along local road signs.
But drivers have been told to still expect lengthy queues.
